I posted my Thanksgiving Wine Chat article on Gather.com with my thoughts on wine selections for Turkey Day. But in case you don’t have time to go read that full article, let me give you the short version here.
You could make a reasonable case for serving at least a half dozen types of wine on Thanksgiving, but pinot noir has been my personal preference of late. The fruitiness works with the vegetables, and the depth of a good pinot picks up the earthy elements on the table such as gravy and stuffing. This year I’m planning to bring the 2005 Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Nuits, Moillard ($18) I picked up back in September. After two months in the cellar, I think it should be even better than when I first tasted it But that is just one of many options. Read the full article here for a complete rundown of my pinot noir reviews and other suggestions. Happy Thanksgiving!
