These simple, crispy air fryer chicken wings are made with just 5 ingredients — olive oil, garlic, lemon, and salt. No breading necessary, and ready in 25 minutes! This recipe assumes you have already thawed the chicken wings, if you bought them frozen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 chicken wing pieces (see notes)
  • 3 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2/3 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablepsoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Make the simple marinade: combine the olive oil, salt, garlic powder and lemon juice in a small bowl.
  2. Marinate the chicken: pat dry the chicken wings. Place the wings in a large plastic bag, the pour then marinade into the bag. Seal the bag, and gently toss the wings to coat them with the marinade. Let the wings sit out for 10 to 15 minutes before cooking, or marinate longer in the refrigerator.
  3. Start cooking the wings: After marinating the wings, prepare the air fryer with parchment paper lining. Place the wings on the parchment paper in a single layer. Air fry on 400 degrees for 10 minutes.
  4. Finish cooking the wings: After 10 minutes of air frying, use tongs to turn the chicken wings over to air fry on the other side for 8 to 10 minutes. Ours were nice and crispy after 20 minutes total cooking time.
  5. Serve and enjoy: When the wings are done, remove to a platter and enjoy.

Notes

  • Chicken wings are made up of two main parts — the drumette (or drummy), which looks like a small drumstick and has more meat, and the flat (or wingette), which has two thin bones and extra crispy skin when cooked. Most “party wings” are sold pre-cut into drumettes and flats, ready for air frying. If you have the full wing, you will want to use a sharp chopping knife to cut the full wing into two pieces.
